Claude, Eugene and A. W. Ratelle joined the colors at the first call. A. W. Ratelle, though 34 years old, is a veteran of the Spanish-American war, having served as master-at-arms on the Old Paisie. He joined the Washington Artillery as mechanic on April 2. Eugene Ratelle, 22 years old, a member of the Louisiana Naval Reserve, responded to the call on March 29, and is now with the gun crew of the U.S.S. Worden, torpedo-boat destroyer. Claude Ratelle, 20 years old, joined Battery F of the Washington Artillery on April 10. -------- The Ratelle brothers are grandsons of the late Colonel A. W. Hyatt, who served during the Civil war, and great-grandsons of Colonel James Harrison Dakin, who served during the Mexican war of 1847. There is one other brother, Ed Ratelle, of Baton Rouge. ************************************************************************** Marriage: AUG 1877 New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana Carrie Eugenia Hyatt Birth: 04 MAR 1858 Father: Arthur William Hyatt Mother: Mary Caroline Dakin 1880 CENSUS: Marital Father's Mother's Full Name Rel Status Sex Race Age Born Occupation Birthplace Birthplace Arthur W.
